Consequences of Teen Anorexia |
Did you know that 5 to 10 million people in America suffer from eating disorders? there seems to be a growing trend of people with eating disorders and the most affected seems to the adolescents. What happens is that they feel more pressure to have a great looking body, so they can be like the models and successful woman with great men the consequence is teen anorexia.
There are a few things that you need to be aware if you or someone in your family has anorexia, its not normal to not eat or eat almost nothing at all, is not normal to vomit after eating, is not normal to be obsessed with losing weight when you are not fat. Those are clear symptoms of a person that could have eating disorders and teen anorexia.
If you find that a parent or teen have some of the symptoms of eating disorders is important that you help her recognize her problem and see a doctor or psychiatrist. If this condition is not treat it, it can get really bad and in some instances lead to death or life healthy damage.
Lets see an example of a girl that a very young age of 16 she stopped eating, avoided food and just ate enough to survive and not gain any calorie extra a day. She continued this way, after her meals she went to the bathroom every day to vomit and even used laxants.
What happened later was that she got really sick bad, suddenly her hair started to fall off, she though it was worth it to stay thin, then her nails fall off, she though it was worth it, then her teeth started to fall off and had problems digesting food and in the intestines.
She was diagnose with anorexia nervosa and needed to have hospital attention to stabilize her health. Now she is 26 and has although she now eats well and has tried to recover her health there are some consequences to their body that will last.
Her teeth are still falling off and she can swallow her food correctly, her bones are very weak, she has intestine problems and at age of 40 she will probably have some severe health problems as consequence of anorexia.
Its not simple to get away with it, if you are having eating disorders just to lose weight and be thin, thing again. This is not the way to do it, you are starving your self to death. Teen anorexia is a real problem and should be avoided if possible.
